skin resurfacing

Introduction

Skin resurfacing is a cosmetic procedure that involves removing the outer layers of damaged or aged skin to reveal smoother, younger-looking skin underneath. The procedure is designed to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, acne scars, and uneven skin tone and texture. There are several different methods used for skin resurfacing, including:

Chemical peels: This method involves applying a chemical solution to the skin, which causes the outer layer of skin to slough off. The new skin that is revealed is typically smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin.

Microdermabrasion: This method uses a device that uses a smooth-tip, hydrating wand to exfoliate the outer layer of skin, revealing smoother, more radiant skin.

Laser Resurfacing: This method uses a laser beam to remove the outer layer of skin, promoting the growth of new skin cells and collagen production. Laser resurfacing can be ablative (removing the entire outer layer of skin) or non-ablative (stimulating collagen production without removing the outer layer of skin).

Overall, skin resurfacing is a safe and effective procedure that can help patients achieve smoother, younger-looking skin. It is important to choose a qualified provider, and follow any and all post-procedure instructions carefully to minimize the risk of complications and ensure optimal results.

The Treatment

During the procedure, our provider will clean the treatment area and apply a topical anesthetic to help numb the area. The provider will then use the chosen method to remove the outer layer of skin. The procedure typically takes anywhere from 15-30 minutes, depending on the size and location of the treatment area.

After the procedure, patients may experience some redness, swelling, and peeling in the treatment area, but these side effects usually subside within a few days to a week. Patients will need to undergo several treatments to achieve optimal results, depending on the severity of their skin concerns.
After the procedure, patients may experience redness, swelling, or discomfort, but these side effects usually subside within a few days. Patients can return to their normal activities immediately after the procedure, and most people see gradual improvements in their skin’s firmness and tightness over several months following treatment.

VirtueRF is a truly ageless procedure. It is used as a preventative and a corrective treatment for patients with light to dark skin types. It is important to talk to your provider about any concerns you might have before your VirtueRF treatment.
Downtime

One of the key benefits of a VirtueRF treatment is that there is no social downtime. The skin may appear red for a few hours but the exclusive post-care regimen works to soothe the skin so most will only notice a post-treatment tightening and glow to their skin. Your provider may recommend no makeup for 24hrs and of course, it’s always important to use sun protection of 30 SPF or higher.
